Both Cincinnati and Syracuse played Connecticut this month. The Bearcats beat the Huskies 28-17 while the Orange lost to UCONN 26-7. Cincinnati accumulated 223 rushing yards two weeks ago against Connecticut and threw for 235 against Louisville last Saturday (almost 400 total yards versus Cardinals). Syracuse was 0-for-12 last week in 3rd down conversions and is hitting a nation-low 18 percent in the category this year. Since losing 51-14 in last year’s Champs Sports Bowl to Georgia Tech, the Orangemen have two covers, one of which was against Buffalo. Here’s the clincher: Cincinnati had 329 passing yards against Penn State which is the most the Nittany Lions have allowed this year by (ready for this) 100 yards and despite four Bearcat turnovers. Cincinnati has a pulse offensively which is much more than you can say about Coach Robinson’s ridiculous team, which failed to cover by 24 ½ points against Rutgers in their last home game. We all remember when Indianapolis just toyed with Kansas City in the 2003 conference semi-final round. Robinson was the defensive coordinator with the Chiefs.
